Care Built for Rexburg Families

If you have put off the dentist because of a bad experience somewhere else, you are not alone. About half the new patients who walk into Strobel Family Dental in Rexburg tell us the same thing. They left another office feeling rushed, pressured, or talked into treatment they were not sure they needed. They came here because someone they trusted told them this place is different.

Strobel Family Dental is a father-son practice where Dr. Dirk Strobel and Dr. Heber Strobel care for families across Rexburg, Sugar City, St. Anthony, Burton, Rigby, and Idaho Falls. Dr. Dirk has been doing this in Rexburg for over 35 years. More than half the patients here now include the children of people he treated when he started. The practice is open Saturdays from 7AM to 1PM and holds space for same-day appointments, because tooth pain and broken teeth do not wait for Monday morning.

General Dentistry In Rexburg

Healthy teeth start with consistent care for the whole family. At Strobel Family Dental, Dr. Dirk and Dr. Heber focus on prevention first, catching small problems early so you avoid bigger, more costly treatment down the road. From your toddler’s first exam to grandparent checkups, one office handles it all. Many patients tell us they came in after years of avoiding the dentist. We hear that often. There is no judgment here, just a clear picture of where your dental health stands and what makes sense next.

Regular visits protect your smile, help you get the most from your insurance, and reduce the chance of a painful surprise. If your family is overdue, this is the easiest place to start.

Why Families Choose Strobel Family Dental

About half the patients who find Strobel Family Dental arrive after a frustrating experience somewhere else. They felt rushed. They were handed a treatment plan without a real explanation. They left with questions they were afraid to ask. That is not how it works here. Dr. Dirk and Dr. Heber take time to walk you through what they see, what needs attention now, and what can wait. Treatment is recommended because it makes clinical sense, not because it fills a schedule.

The other reason families stay is access when life does not cooperate. Saturdays from 7AM to 1PM, same-day appointments when something breaks or starts hurting, and a team that knows your name and your history when you call. Families drive in from Rigby, Idaho Falls, and as far as 2 to 3 hours away because finding a dentist you trust is worth the drive. When you find one, you keep going back.

Restorative Dentistry in Rexburg

When a tooth is damaged, infected, or lost, restoring it quickly protects the rest of your mouth. At Strobel Family Dental, Dr. Dirk and Dr. Heber handle most restorative treatment right here in Rexburg. No referrals to an outside specialist. No driving to Idaho Falls for an implant consultation. Dr. Heber has placed hundreds of implants and takes a proactive approach to bone preservation, grafting at the time of extraction in most cases so patients avoid a separate procedure later.

Every restorative plan starts with a thorough exam and an honest conversation about your options. We explain what your insurance covers, what you will pay out of pocket, and what can wait without causing a bigger problem.

Cosmetic Dentistry in Rexburg

A healthy smile is the foundation. Once your teeth and gums are in good shape, cosmetic dentistry helps you feel confident about how that smile looks. About half the cosmetic patients Dr. Heber sees come after being unhappy with work done somewhere else. The most common complaint is color. The shade was off, or the veneers did not match the rest of their teeth. Getting that right starts with a thorough evaluation before any cosmetic work begins.

Every cosmetic treatment starts with an honest conversation about what will actually work for your situation. About half the patients who come in asking for veneers are redirected to a more conservative option like bonding or whitening. We recommend what fits your teeth and your budget, not what costs the most.

Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve avoided the dentist for years, can I still be helped?

Yes, and you would not be the first. About half the new patients Dr. Dirk and Dr. Heber see at Strobel Family Dental come in after years of avoiding care, often because of a previous bad experience or dental anxiety. Your first visit is a conversation, not a judgment. We look at where things stand, explain what we find in plain language, and walk you through your options at your pace. Nothing starts until you are ready and you know the costs upfront.

What are my options if I have dental anxiety or fear of the dentist?

Dental anxiety is very common, and modern dental practices offer several options to help you feel calm and in control. Many offices focus on a gentle approach that includes clear communication, slower pacing, and explaining each step before it happens. Knowing what to expect often reduces fear significantly.

Depending on your comfort level, options may include topical numbing, stronger local anesthesia, oral sedation, or other relaxation techniques. Some patients also benefit from noise-canceling headphones, calming music, or taking breaks during treatment. The most important step is letting the dental team know about your anxiety so care can be tailored to your needs.

Do you see patients on Saturdays?

Yes. We are open Saturday from 7AM to 1PM. Saturday appointments fill up, so if you need a weekend visit, call ahead. We also hold space for same-day emergencies during the week and on Saturdays when possible.

Can you handle a dental emergency on short notice?

We do our best to see emergency patients the same day. Tooth pain, broken teeth, and lost restorations are situations we prioritize. If you’re in pain, call us first thing in the morning and we’ll find a way to get you in, including on Saturdays.

What should I expect during my first dental visit?

our first visit starts with a conversation, not a sales pitch. We review your dental history, take any needed x-rays, and do a thorough exam. Then we walk you through what we found in plain language: what needs attention now, what can wait, and what each option costs. You leave with a clear plan and no surprises.

Can I bring my whole family to one appointment?

Yes. We see patients of every age in one office, from toddlers getting their first exam to grandparents needing implants. Many families schedule everyone on the same day so they make one trip. Call us and we will do our best to get the whole household in together.

How much will treatment cost and what does insurance cover?

We work with most major dental insurance plans and PPOs. Before any treatment starts, we explain what your plan is likely to cover and what your out-of-pocket portion will be. For families without insurance, we offer a membership plan that covers routine care and reduces costs on other services. No surprises before we start.

Do you only serve families in Rexburg?

Strobel Family Dental primarily serves families in Rexburg, Idaho, along with nearby neighborhoods like Jolley, Burton, Newdale, and surrounding areas. Many patients also travel from Rigby, Idaho Falls, Saint Anthony, and Island Park because they value long-term care and Saturday availability. If you are looking for a family dentist you can stay with, distance is often less important than trust and consistency.
